Best Practices for Organising GSC Surf Trips

We want to ensure members are have some guidelines to work from to have the best trip experiences.

We’re thrilled to see our community growing and everyone catching more waves with the help of our club and and platform! To ensure that all members get the most out of their surfing trips, we’ve put together a set of best practices.

By following these guidelines, you’ll help make surf trips more enjoyable and efficient for everyone.

Here’s how you can make the most out of your surf trips:

Multiple Cars, More Fun:
If you’re planning a trip with friends leaving from different locations or at different times, it best to arrange more than one car or Organise a Trip separately, as it allows each car to communicate on the group chat area of the trip and be able the log all your shared expenses.

Having multiple drivers is great IF you are all leaving from the same location and sharing all the same information. If you have more than one care on an Organised trip - it is best to Mention and communicate any details in the trip chat area so members can choose the best car option that suits them.

Booking Trips and Accommodation:
When booking a trip beyond a day trip, don’t forget to sort out accommodations. If one hasn’t been picked delegate this to to one of the members. We recommend picking the option free cancellation, providing flexibility for all members. This helps everyone to plan better without the stress of non-refundable bookings. Booking.com provides the best search criteria.

Variety in Accommodation:
When Organising a Trip within our club platform. You can pick and share the accommodations by toggling the accommodation button and you can add the accommodation address as your destination in the destination area by short typing the address.

If accommodations haven't been picked - Share this in the trip caption or the chat area of the trip so that everyone can pick the option that fits their needs best. This way, we can ensure everyone has a comfortable stay. For example, some may want to stay in a place with self catering verses staying in a BNB.

Keep Everyone Informed:
COMMUNICATE - Share your skill level, preferences, board sizes and keep all essential information—ride details, departure times, and accommodation info - visible in the chat. If there are any changes, update the chat promptly. This keeps everyone on the same page and avoids any last-minute confusion.

If you are in the same car or accommodations be sure you communicate with each other and your drivers as these are typically shared expenses and you driver may be counting on you.

Keeping all communication in the platform as this allow everyone to be on the same page, logs information for future reference and allows people not to have to share personal information.

Driver Privileges:
Remember, drivers are captain and get the first choice of rooms. They’re doing the crucial job of getting everyone to the surf spot, so let’s show them some appreciation!

We appreciate your cooperation in following these best practices. Together, we can make every surf trip smooth, enjoyable, and unforgettable. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out via the app.

Happy Surfing! 🌊
